Ormond
Beach is a rapidly growing community approximately six miles
north of Daytona Beach Florida. With an average age of 48
and the median income of $45,000 a year, this community of
approximately 37,000 has everything any family could want.
The
community has a lot going for it and very little going against
it. While the city has nearly doubled in new home starts since
the mid nineties, the crime rate is almost a hundred points
lower than the average city in the United States.
Although
best known as a tourist city, Ormond Beach boasts six public
elementary and middle schools, eight private elementary/middles
schools and two private high schools.
Several
community colleges and universities are within 75 miles, as
is an international airport in Daytona Beach and a municipal
airport in town.
The
proximity to Daytona
Beach is perhaps the biggest draw. At less than ten miles
away, it makes for an easy commute for work or shopping. Jacksonville,
an even larger city, is less than two hours away.
Like
much of Florida, Ormond Beach enjoys warm temperatures and
sunny days. Average temperatures range from 58 degrees in
the winter to around 82 degrees in the summer. Rainfall ranges
from approximately 2 inches in the winter months and six during
the summer. Snow is almost unheard of.
Ormond
Beach can also brag that its unemployment percentages are
below the state averages. With a median age of residents above
the state averages, the community is more stable as more residents
own their own homes and are not renting.
Restaurants,
grocery stores, movie houses and other entertainment abound
in this community. Close to fifty manufacturing facilities,
call Ormond
Beach home.
Looking
for a new place to call home could not be better than this
growing, thriving community. It is a terrific place to live,
work and raise children with all the amenities of a big city
and yet have the charm of a small town.
