What type of gel does happy candles use?
Penreco Gel HP, is the thickest gel available which will allow us to put the most scent in our candles to give the candle the maximum amount of fragrance to fill your home or office.

How long is a gel candle good?
The shelf life of a gel candle is very long.They need to be kept out of direct sunlight. Keep the tops of the gel candle dust free by covering with a lid or plastic wrap when not using.

Is it safe to burn candles with objects embedded in them?
Yes. Happy Candles only use objects that are non flammable and resistant to smoldering. Our embedded objects are placed safely away from the wick so you may burn your candle(s) safely.

Why does my candle container turn black?
The black is carbon. This can be caused by a large flame will produce carbon due to lack of oxygen from the air into the jar. Wick maintenance is extremely important. The wick must be trimmed to no more than 1/4" before each burn for as long as you have the candle. You're candle can be burned for 2-3 hours at a time with out trimming the wick.

What is the best way to trim a wick?
After the candle is fully cooled down turn the candle upside down to trim to 1/4" this will keep the soot from falling into the candle.
We use only 100% Lead free wicks, Happy Candles use Zinc Core wicks in every candle!
